Hawaiian Roll Cheeseburger Sliders

Hawaiian Roll Cheeseburger Sliders

Put a spin on your traditional burger and serve it in slider form on a sweet roll! These Hawaiian roll cheeseburger sliders are easy to make and use ground beef instead of patties. Check out the process this easy cheeseburger sliders recipe!

Ingredients for Hawaiian Roll Cheeseburger Sliders

Here are the ingredients you will need:

  • Ground beef – 80/20 blend is preferred for best beef flavor
  • 12-pack Hawaiian rolls
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • American cheese slices
  • Diced onion – can cook separately from ground beef for those who don’t like onion
  • Seasoning
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Pickles (optional)

Cooking the Ground Beef

Ground beef in cast iron skillet.

In a large mixing bowl, combine one and half pounds (24 ounces) of ground beef, 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce, and 2 tablespoons of beef seasoning. Mix these ingredients together by hand until well blended together.

In an large skillet, cook the seasoned ground beef. The best flavor for ground beef will be an 80/20 blend, but you can also use a low-fat option such as 90/10. Cook until all the ground beef is browned and drain the grease. Return to pan.

Regarding diced onions, you can cook them with the ground beef or in a separate pan. I usually cook the onion in a separate pan because I have family that don’t like onions. Cooking the sauteed onions separately allows me to distribute the onion to one portion of the Hawaiian roll cheeseburger sliders as compared to having to pick them out of each one.

Putting the Mini Burgers Together

Putting the ground beef Hawaiian roll sliders together.

With the ground beef cooked, take your 12-pack of King’s Hawaiian rolls and slice them in half, forming a top and bottom bun. Place the bottom portion of the bun in a greased foil pan. Place six slices of American cheese down, then spread on your ground beef and onions. Sprinkle two cups of shredded cheese and then place the buns on top.

For the topping of the buns, take 2 tablespoons of melted butter and spread with a basting brush. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top to finish the prep before taking to the grill!

NOTE: If you want pickles on your sliders, place them down before putting the ground beef and onions on.

How Long Do I Cook These Easy Cheeseburger Sliders?

With your grill preheated at 350 degrees, cook these ground beef Hawaiian roll sliders for 20 minutes. If you like your cheeseburger sliders with more a steamed flavor, wrap the pan in foil. For a toasted bun, leave them uncovered.

Remove the mini burgers from the grill after 20 minutes and use a large spatula to help “slide” them out of the pan (see what I did there?). Separate into 12 individual sliders and serve immediately!
